Temporary Travel Restrictions Applicable to Land Ports of Entry and Ferries Service Between the United States, Canada and Mexico.

CBP has released today two notices regarding Temporary Travel Restrictions Applicable to land Ports of Entry and Ferries Service between the United States, Canada and Mexico. The two Federal Register Notices specifically deal with COVID-19 and related limits to essential travel. The two official releases are attached.

These notices go into effect at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on March 20, 2020 and will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. EDT on April 20, 2020.

Again, please keep in mind that these restrictions only apply to persons and not to commercial cargo. CBP has stated that normal trade and cargo flows will not be affected. Hours of service will remain the same and CBP does not anticipate any personnel shortages.
