The World BASC Organization (WBO), in coordination with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), held a meeting at the new Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) office in Laredo, Texas, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between both organizations.
Representing BASC USA, Juan Ilich Pérez, Chairman of the Board, and Erik Moncayo, International President of WBO, met with Michael Garza, Director of the CTPAT Office in Laredo, and members of his team. During the meeting, the CTPAT team briefed the WBO representatives on the current validation and admission processes within the CTPAT program.

During the visit, recognizing the synergies between BASC USA and the new CTPAT office, the group exchanged views on future collaboration opportunities and areas of mutual support, while celebrating the beginning of a strong and promising partnership between CTPAT Laredo and BASC USA.
This visit reaffirms the long-standing partnership between CBP and BASC, which originated with the signing of the first Joint Declaration in 2012 and was further strengthened through renewed commitments and a Joint Action Plan in 2021. For more than two decades, both organizations have worked together to promote an international trade environment that is secure, ethical, and competitive.
